We are pleased to announce the release of SMSsync v2.7. This release is packed with lot of bug fixes and exciting new features.
Features:
Alerts
We have added the ability for you to be able to remotely check the status of the device that is running SMSsync. You will be able to send what we could query codes as SMS to the device running the app to check it's status. For example, if you want to know if the device still has reception, you will text '@10' without the single quotes. SMSsync should send back a response with the status of the device's reception to the configured alert phone number. See here for more information.
Message Result API
We have added an optional feature on the Settings screen that lets developers know the statuses of all out going messages processed by SMSsync. Previous versions of SMSsync didn't allow this so most developers couldn't tell if SMSsync succeeded in sending out the message. Now when the app manages to send out messages it will send a response back to the server and if it fails, it will try again until all the messages are sent to the intended recipient. For more information on this feature, check the documentation on our website.
Toggle SMS Delivery Report
Now you should be able to toggle SMS delivery reports from the Settings screen. Some network providers charge you for the report delivery SMS. If you're not interested in receiving these reports you can now disable it.
Updated Logo
We have refreshed our logo to make it more modern and fresh. We've also made small change to the name of the app, now "SMSsync" instead of the previous "SMSSync". We found that it was more natural to write SMSsync, hence the change.
Offering Support and Customization!
Are you interested in receiving any technical support, hosting, or customization for your SMSsync integration? Send us an email if you are interested, we are here to help!
Feedback Dialog
We are very interested in improving the app and it experience. To better engage more with our users we have added a dialog that periodically pops ups to ask you to provide us with your email address so we can reach out to you for feedback on how we can serve you better. You have the ability to dismiss the dialog if you're not interested in providing us with your email address. Would be great if you could provide us with your email address if the app pops up the dialog.
